Since April 2023 the conflict in Sudan has cost dozens of thousands of lives and has escalated into a civil war, leading to widespread displacement and a severe humanitarian crisis. Systematic attacks on civilian population and mass sexual violence have been widely documented. It is a result of a power struggle between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, two major factions within the Sudanese military. The conflict has drawn in regional and international actors, with concerns raised about the use of weapons and potential involvement of other countries. We invited two experts from Amnesty International East Africa to help us understand the situation in Sudan. Join us in an effort to support the Sudanese people.

2023年4月以降、スーダンでは武力衝突が激化し、数万人の命が奪われ、内戦へと発展しています。この紛争により、多くの人びとが国内外への避難を余儀なくされ、深刻な人道危機が発生しています。民間人に対する組織的な攻撃や、大規模な性暴力の事例も数多く報告されています。
この衝突は、スーダン国軍（Sudanese Armed Forces）と準軍事組織・即応支援部隊（Rapid Support Forces）という、スーダンの軍内部の2大勢力による権力闘争に端を発しています。さらに、周辺諸国や国際的な関係者の関与も指摘されており、兵器の使用や他国による介入の可能性にも懸念が高まっています。
今回、アムネスティ・インターナショナルの東・南部アフリカ地域オフィスから2名の専門家を招き、現地の状況について理解を深める機会を設けました。スーダンの人びとへの連帯の一歩として、ぜひご参加ください。
