On October 25th AITEN (an Amnesty Japan English speaking group) hosts an important newly-released Japanese documentary. With the recent focus on how Japan is dealing with its increasing foreign population, Now and Then looks at pressing issues for refugees and asylum seekers in Japan, and young activists working for changes to the current system.
The film also covers the long unresolved case of attacks on Korean residents after the 1923 Kanto earthquake, linking past and present to spark awareness and discussion of discrimination and injustice.
We will have time for discussion and questions after the screening, with English subtitles, and are delighted that the director Takashi Nishihara will join us for this very special event.
This event is free, but donations will be welcome. Come if you can and please share this information widely. It's important to reserve seats in good time. We will close the list when all the seats are taken.
10月25日、AITEN(Amnesty International Tokyo English Network)は、話題の新作ドキュメンタリー『ナウ・アンド・ゼン』の上映会を開催します。
