【活動報告】Youth Craft Workshop～ユースクラフトワークショップを実施しました～

5月16日、国際光デーに、ユースネットワーク、AITEN、ユースコレクティブなどのメンバーが東京・代々木公園に集まりました。

「国際光デー(International Day of Light)」とは、ユネスコが定めた国際デーで、「光」が科学・文化・芸術・教育など、社会のあらゆる場面で果たす役割を称える日とされ、毎年5月16日に世界中で祝われています。

このイベントは主にアムネスティ・インターナショナル日本のユースコレクティブのメンバーが企画し、世界各地のアムネスティ支部から集まった若者たちが「自国・世界の若者に影響を与える人権問題」をテーマに同日に連携イベントを開催する「コンステレーション」というグローバルな枠組みの中で行われました。

7名の参加者は、難民・亡命希望者の背景を持つ若者たちが日本でどのように扱われているか、特に教育面においてどのような状況にあるかという点について掘り下げました。そして協力しながら、日本の制度的な障壁のために高等教育を受けることが困難な若者たちの事例を2つ紹介するポスターを作成しました。

On this day, to celebrate the day of light, members from the Youth Network, AITEN, Youth Collective, and others gathered together in Yoyogi Park, Tokyo. This event was mainly organized by a member of Amnesty Japan's Youth Collective. However, it was organized within a larger global group called the [Constellation], where youth from various Amnesty Sections around the world held coordinated events on the theme of [Human rights issues affecting young people in their countries/world] on the same day.

The issues that the participants delved into were how the youth who have refugee/asylum-seeking backgrounds are treated in Japan, especially regarding their education. The 7 participants worked together to create a poster illustrating two cases in which youth in Japan struggled to access higher education due to systemic barriers.
